Simple Pillow Sham Tutorial for Standard and King pillows

Pillow Sham Tutorial
with SIMPLE
Envelope Closure

Here's a really easy way to make a cute pillow sham with an envelope back closure.  Directions are for a Standard OR a King Sham.

LOVE THIS FABRIC?  Get it HERE.

You'll NEED:

For a STANDARD sham....
29x22 inch cut of fabric for the front
20x22 for the back (2 pieces)

For a KING sham....

36x22 inch cut of fabric (front)
27x22 for the back (2 pieces)

Your sham will look like this!

CUT YOUR FABRIC.

For the 2 back pieces HEM one side on each piece. (22 in, side)

~Lay your TOP cut pretty side facing UP.

~Lay BOTH back pieces pretty side facing down.

PIN!!!!!!! A LOT!!!!
This will keep everything in place while sewing.

Next Serge ALL edges.  If you don't have a serger that's OK...just sew all of your edges.
Be careful the center flaps stay flat while sewing.

Once all of your edges are finished flip your pillow case right side out.  Make sure to push all 4 corners out.
You can use a pencil (That's how I do it.)
Now....Iron the heck out of it.  Use a ton of starch, the starch will make it hard and easy to sew your boarder.

LAST STEP!!!!!

Top stitch around the entire pillow case.  Your stitch should be 1 inch from the edge all
the way around.
(Again....be careful with the back)

There you go!!!!  Simple, right??!!

Cafe Curtains made out of Joel Dewberry Damask Fabric

                         EXTREMELY SIMPLE CAFE CURTAINS

I seriously made these in like 15 minutes!!!!!
Change the mood of your kitchen by adding a fresh new look.
These curtains cost me less than $10.

LOOK....I washed the windows just for you!  Its been awhile.  ;)  I'M BUSY!  WHAT??!

STEP 1

Go to www.glamfabrics.etsy.com if you want this fabric.

For the bottom part.  Cut about 1 yard.  I used about 29 inches.
Then just cut it in half right on the center fold.
Just guess!  Seriously, its not like you're making a dress.

Do the same for the top part, just make it shorter and do NOT cut it in half.

Joel Dewberry Aviary 2 fabric in Damask.

STEP 2

Use your Serger to finish the edges on all 3 pieces of fabric.

STEP 3

Fold the edges and hem.  Do it twice so the edges are stiff...then they wont curl.

Hem it!

BAAAAM!!!!  EASY PEASY.
